The Art of Doodling

It could mean something, but it doesn’t need to mean anything.

It could express some deep seated ideas, or just a general state of being.

I like to mingle around with a pen/pencil and a piece of paper . It’s my way of clearing my head or keeping myself busy. And sometimes it’s just a good thing to do while you’re thinking.

Doodling is like getting an itch out of your head.

So doodling can be done when you’re bored, but also when you’re a little too excited, to relief such excitement and channel it through your drawings.

My style is just a flow of lines and geometric shapes, tight at one or more spots and then growing more sparse.

A doodle looks nice if it’s done with confidence. When the lines are strong, even if they were not originally intended to be drawn that way. That gives the doodle some character. Strong lines show intention, and that feels artistic.

So doodle away!

Below is some of my recent stuff out of notebooks and papers.
