DO THIS AND YOU’LL BE WELCOME ANYWHERE

After studying the chapter “Do this and you’ll be welcome anywhere” I have learned the following .
One of the easiest way to get friendly with people is to be genuinely interested in them . One easy application the author suggests is to record and remember people’s birthdays. In today’s age of digital reminders,its very easy to remember people’s birthdays and so it is crucial that you wish them at your earliest.
Generally people like to be remembered, admired and sought after for help– so if you need something from someone, tell them that they are the only person who can help you, ask for exactly what you need from them, and make it as easy as possible for them to do it.
The author quoted many examples in which people took genuine interest in other person, even though that interest wasn’t remotely related to what they needed from them. You will often find that if you simply take an interest in the other person, they will often give you what you need, and frequently more, without you even asking.
Whether you call it karma, or reaping what you sow, you will accomplish much more by taking an interest in people, and giving them what they want, then you will by all the best sales techniques in the world.
THE 24 HOUR CHALLENGE
After studying the chapter from the book “How to Win Friends and Influence People” by Dale Carnegie I’ve learned some of the most beneficial skills for communication which i will try to apply in my daily life. I applied this challenge on some of my university and amal friends and also one of my family members . I learned that by being genuinely interested in other people you develop a very strong bond with them. As they start to unfold their life stories and hobbies etc with you they start to trust you. As you gather more and more information about a person it makes a shape of a tree with the most fundamental information as the roots and the minor information as the leaves . You make a visual picture of that person in your mind. You get to know things which are entirely new to you. For this session I specially added a girl from my university which I was afraid of for a long time. As we start to chat and I started to apply this strategy on our conversation it was obvious that she was interested in our conversation right from the start. After concluding our first chat it seemed that she has been my friend for a long time. I believe this skill is crucial for having good relations in life whether it’s with your family, friends, colleagues or anyone else. I think that this is one of the best skills for communication I have ever known.
