This is great. I’ve spent a lot of time writing cold emails and advising startups on how to do it well- I think this article really hits the nail on the head! I get called “Mr. Chudik” a lot, so definitely feel for you on the attention-to-detail pet peeve haha.
It can be tough to toe the line between being too direct (asking for money) and beating around the bush. I think your advice to offer up your POV as an industry insider is a great way to achieve a happy medium.
I think another thing to note that Lou does really well, is quickly introduce a problem and answer how he/his startup is helping to solve it. I LOVE that he then found a company in your portfolio that was using a similar strategy.
