Who has more control over your life, you or fate?

“It’s this: that at a certain point in our lives, we lose control of what’s happening to us, and our lives become controlled by fate. That’s the world’s greatest lie.” (pg. 19)

I find this quote to be interesting because I think that “fate” can play a role in your circumstances. Now, the interpretation of “fate” is different among everyone. You may be the causing factor of your fate, or fate may actually be just that; fate. I think that by staying positive, and projecting that out into the world, it allows for good karma to be returned. I think this quote can be a good representation of what my “big question” may be asking. I am seeking a career that delivers knowledge through the knowledge I have received. I have a passion for understanding communities and the people within them. I feel like the community is only as strong as those who are informed and educated. I think that the more you know, the more you should be willing to help others change their circumstances for the better. I understand that I actually will be a “fate” changer for many, because I will be presenting them with guidance and support to make positive changes in their lives. I’m hoping to be a counselor, or a recreation coordinator, or even working in a human resources position. It is the world’s greatest lie to assume that we don’t have control of our fate. We do have control, and with the help of others, we can help change their fates as well.
