For Good Men To See Nothing
Ken Burnside

Having pretended to be a girl in online games, it’s utterly terrifying just how depraved and disgusting the male gaming collective can be, in the presence of the mere idea of a woman they just might have something in common with. I don’t know if it comes from the cliche that girl gamers are rare, or what, but I can’t even imagine what it must be like to be female in a gaming community where you have to be within arm’s length of these people.

The mere notion of women being sexually assaulted just because they want to participate in something they enjoy is beyond words, in terms of just how utterly wrong that entire situation is. It’s a representation of the stereotypical nerd who immediately thinks a girl likes him when she literally has only spoken two sentences to him. It makes me wonder whether our hobby attracts a certain group of people with some particular mental disorder that makes them think that it’s okay to treat women in such immoral ways.
