Trump is Elected; Say Hello to President Mike Pence
We live in an imperfect world:
In 2016, Donald J. Trump is elected president of the United States;
Satisfied with the election results, but still reeling from numerous insults suffered at the hands of Trump during the campaign, members of the Republican “elite” seek vengeance from day one;
While Trump is preparing the inaugural speech, members of the Republican elite enter into secret negotiations, and later make a secret deal with Democrats to unseat Trump as soon as he commits impeachable gaffes;
As sure as the Sun rises, Donald Trump’s words and actions rapidly isolate his country from the rest of the world and bring the United States, its economy, and what’s left of its allies close to the precipice;
After a series of verbal fights and vicious insults between Trump and members of his White House become public, the US Congress sends a formal letter to President Trump demanding that he resigns immediately. Trump refuses;
In 2018, Donald J. Trump is impeached. He barricades himself in the Oval Office. The Secret Service is ordered to go in and use force if necessary to boot him out of the White House;
Trump is seen on the White House lawn kicking and screaming that he “should have pressed the button”, before being led to an ambulance by five men wearing white jackets;
With immediate effect, vice president Mike Pence becomes president of the United States. One week later, he announces that Sarah Palin has accepted to serve as vice president until the next election.
Here are some notes of interest about new US president Mike Pence (you already know Palin):
He VOTED AGAINST the raising of the federal minimum wage (from 5.15 to 7.25);
He VOTED AGAINST the Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act;
He VOTED AGAINST the No Child Left Behind Act;
He VOTED AGAINST the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act;
He VOTED FOR the Iraq war, and in 2009 sponsored legislation to extend certain provisions of the Patriot Act;
He supported George W. Bush’s attempt at privatizing social security;
He DOES NOT believe that climate change is the result of human activity, and he thinks that the Earth is actually cooler today than it was 50 years ago;
He VOTED to eliminate funding for climate education programs;
He believes God created the heavens and the Earth, and he is convinced that one day scientists will realize that the only rational explanation for the universe is “intelligent design”;
He is of the opinion that money should be directed toward “conversion therapy” to help homosexuals change their “sexual behaviour”.
