Yes. But it is not the obvious racism of white robes and burning crosses. Nor is it the coded racism lurking behind phrases like “states’ rights” or “urban culture” or “welfare queen”
Dear White People, Racism Is Not About You

OK, since you threw your hat in the ring and I can see you’re a hipster by your picture — this is global and people in wealthier countries have just now begin to talk about it. What do you think about the fact that it was just fine that a named chair of literature rape me, causing me to believe I was going to die — and suffer zip jack shit for it — and also costing me (personally) Rhodes and Watson Fellowships? There is MORE THAN ONE of this guy on every American college campus. And there aren’t any news articles, nor any “Spotlight” Boston Globe coverage, nor any coverage like my fellow schoolmate just wrote up in LA Times about Fay Wells in Santa Monica. It took the lives of MY generation and ate my mother’s life. Grandmother’s life. All of us. You can do what the lawyer neighbor said to Fay if you get my meaning. I’m not a white woman saying “I’m so sorry for racism.” I am a woman.
