5 reasons why Paris is the center of new urban mobility
Hold your breath and let me explain why.
Will Paris lead the urban mobility revolution? Here are five major projects that will position Paris at the center of the urban mobility disruption.

1.The Olympics: 100 years after the Paris 1924 Olympics, the City of Light is now #Readyfor24. Efficiency and sustainability are at the core of the strategy, which is fully in line with the 2020 agenda. The objective: reduce the carbon footprint by up to 55% by placing 85% of the athletes less than 30 minutes away from competition venues. Discover the program

2. Make Our Planet Great Again: President Emmanuel Macron invited U.S. scientists to “Make our planet great again” after President Donald Trump announced the U.S. withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement. Produced and managed by Business France, “Make our planet great again” encourages experts to join an innovative hub of science, technology and progress to fight climate change.

3. The Grand Paris Express: The city is running one of the biggest infrastructure projects. It aims to create a sustainable and unified city, built upon a renewed public transport system and new metro lines. The ribbon will be cut on this 25 billion euros project in 2024.

4. Paris is pioneering solutions in transportation: The right bank of Paris’ Seine River is car-free, diesel cars will be banned by 2025, driverless electric shuttles are being tested, electric taxi boats will start tests later this year, and there is a plan to double bike lanes by 2020.

5. Autonomy & The Urban Mobility Summit: One of the world’s biggest urban mobility platforms, offering a space for the urban mobility disruption to grow and thrive, takes place this October in Paris.
