Percussionist to Progammer v1.4.1

Today was not the best day I’ve had at The Iron Yard. It wasn’t bad, but it moved at a slower pace today. I think part of it was because it was a Monday, and also because we started AJAX today, which is (sort of) a completely different concept than the JS we’ve been studying.

The weirdest thing I learned today was the idea of the Promise constructor and its ‘then’ method. The idea that whatever is returned from a then method is passed to the next one was strange and difficult for me to grasp at first. I think I understand it now, but I need to put it into practice to really get it down.

Tonight (assuming I don’t fall asleep before then) I’m going to learn about user authentication, which involves someone logging in with a username and password. This is a topic I’ve been looking forward to for quite some time, and I can’t wait to implement into some of my projects.

That’s all for now. Short post tonight…

I thought of a programmer joke today while learning about AJAX. Why did the JSON data not want to be parsed?

It didn’t want to be objectified!

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
