Sonnet #120
Despite technological advancement,
I’m still removed by miles from my sweet.
Even with transportation enhancement
Distance is impossible to defeat.
Sure, she can serenade me from afar,
Using systems of boxes and wire
And signals that go from here to the stars
And back again before they expire.
We live in an age of science fiction,
So why must two loves be separated?
Loneliness is my greatest affliction;
Only at her touch will I be sated.
For there is no app, device, or website
That can replace her next to me at night.
