Thanks for your response :) I’m sure not all the managers who are doing this are having one reason behind it. as you mention there can be other motivations to do so. work-life balance (but in some cases, they won’t comment if you choose to work those extra hours from home for examples) or overtime pay (I’m not sure if all the positions in all companies get paid for extra working hours). but now when I read this part again I feel that “Jante Law” sounded like *the only* interpretation for this attitude, which is not what I wanted to say. so I’m editing it to make sure that it doesn't sound like that. thanks for drawing my attention to it :)
