“Engrossed”

In the outrage of darkness,

right outside my door,

was a corridor of light that cast a glow into my room.

The glow was enough to read by,

So when the “real” lights came out,

I would sit on the floor,

where I could appreciate reading in that glow.

And express the peace of reading.
