Republicans and the NRA don’t believe in private property rights

Wisconsin state legislator’s call for suing businesses that ban guns from their premises proves that GOP and NRA have no respect for concept of private property

There are few, if any, gun nuts in America who are more dangerous and extreme than Wisconsin State Rep. Bob Gannon (R-Slinger), who has gone as far as to propose legislation to intimidate businesses that exercise their private property right to ban guns from their premises by subjecting them to triple damages if they ban guns from their premises, and a shooting occurs on premises:

A state lawmaker wants businesses that ban guns to be held strictly liable for any gun-related injury that might occur in their premises — and to pay triple damages.

Under (Wisconsin State Rep. Bob) Gannon’s bill the liability would attach automatically. In other words, if someone with a gun — a concealed carry permit holder or otherwise — injured or killed someone inside a store that had a sign prohibiting weapons, the business would be on the hook for triple the damages to any victims.

This legislation has one goal: intimidate businesses into allowing guns on their premises, or risk being bankrupted if they prohibit guns on their premises. The NRA, and politicians that they support (mostly, but not entirely, Republicans), are against private property rights, especially when it comes to guns.
