The Boy Scouts have effectively become a fascist youth group

Here’s a collection of tweets coming from a Trump speech to thousands of Boy Scouts at their Jamboree in West Virginia, which featured President Donald Trump employing members of his own Republican Party to take away health insurance from tens of millions of Americans:

It is inherently clear that Trump, who, by virtue of being President of the United States, is the honorary president of the Boy Scouts of America, is trying to turn the Boy Scouts into his own fascist youth group. Indeed, opponents of Trump on both the left (such as Minnesota State Representative Erin Maye Quade) and the right (such as former George W. Bush ethics lawyer Richard Painter) have publicly condemned Trump’s speech to the Boy Scouts:

This isn’t just politicization of a youth group, this is an attempt to indoctrinate American children, who are the future of our country, into an authoritarian mindset. To say that Trump’s attempt at indoctrinating children in his authoritarian mindset is scary is a massive understatement. The Boy Scouts of America should immediately condemn Trump’s speech at their Jamboree and remove President Trump from the position of honorary president of the Boy Scouts, or progressive parents with children in the Boy Scouts should pull their children out of the Boy Scouts.
