Great post, we have found in the past that having the relevant team in the initial client meetings has helped win us more work and help boost confidence with clients.

However in the early days of this some members of the team were not fully participating in the meeting or looking interested, but when I reviewed with the team members it was partly down to nerves and not thinking their opinion mattered which of course it does and is most welcomed.

Now our meetings run smooth with clients and everyone inputs which is great, the only thing I do before having meetings like this is an initial meeting with the client to figure out what they are trying to do and if they are serious with their idea and have a budget, as you are right a lot of meetings can certainly be a waste of the teams time.
