There is a new store downtown Ashland and everyone is whispering about it. It is called The Haven, an experiential retail store with some pretty hefty prices.

The Haven opened on Aug. 9, 2022, and is run by Twin Ray, a spiritual group founded by Shekinah Ma (she/her) and Sanandaji (he/him). The couple claim to be spiritual beings, with gifts, who will help you on your spiritual journey to awaken and live your divine truth.

Shekinah Ma said she went into a coma at the age of 33 and entered a spiritual rebirth. On Oct. 10, 2010, Shekinah Ma awakened from her coma as a body filled with spirit, wisdom and boundless love of the divine mother. Sanandaji was born spiritually awake and inquisitive, or so it says on their website. The two met at the Great Pyramid in Egypt and days later recited ancient marriage vows.

The store front has a tea and tonic lounge, sacred art gallery, jewelry, garments, and wholefood supplements for longevity and wellness. The price of their products ranges from hundreds to thousands and they follow the theme of spirituality by using angel numbers such as $222 and $3,333.

On the website you can purchase items from Twin Ray and they have videos explaining the motive and creation of each item. The explanation and selling point of each item is pushed hard that it will heal or aid you on your spiritual journey, but do you need to spend that much money to make it to the next level? There is an ethics issue on selling spirituality, it can make one feel as though they cannot be spiritually awakened if they do not have the money to do so. The Haven states it “sells high quality, luxury products, that feed the spirit and the soul.” But can one feed the soul without spending hundreds of dollars?
