I am disgusted by page 6 of your Summer 2016 edition. I believe in free speech and feel you should have published a counter view on the subject of abortion in the UK.
The Headline mentions that abortion is dividing the UK but you only published one perspective on the divide. As the founder of the UK’s only Christian Abolition Society, I have a duty of care to speak up for these helpless, voiceless unborn children. I am opposed to all forms of bullying and harassment. I acknowledge children as the most vulnerable of society and unborn children the most vulnerable as one in four are aborted in the UK.
How can Aslef or any one of us proclaim we are for equality or defend any people group being harmed when we change our own personal ethics when it comes to unborn children? All abortions result in a child losing their life. This is bullying and harassment unto death! Even the hard cases that you use to justify all abortions, “Abortion is illegal [in Ireland] even when the foetus has fatal conditions or where the pregnancy is a result of rape”, if the unborn child has said “fatal condition” then let the child live their short life being loved by its parents rather than killed by them; “rape” though horrific, what a greater crime it is to kill the innocent child that resulted from said rape. Punish the rapist, not the innocent child!
The UK has the blood of over 7 million aborted babies on its hands since the 1967 Abortion Act was passed. This figure would be far greater if early abortions were counted or known, such as result from the contraceptive pill, morning after pill and IUD’s etc.
Ireland — keep your hands and conscience clean. Take the moral high ground, defend EVERYONE’S right to live a life free of bullying and harassment — say NO to abortion and love the most vulnerable of us! The Bible tells us that children are a gift from God and every soul belongs to Him.
If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain; if thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?
