The Purpose of Education

Incredibly well written article; thank you for writing it. Towards the beginning, I really wondered about the contrast this argument may pose to that brought up in this article: http://nypost.com/2015/12/29/from-nyc-to-harvard-the-war-on-asian-success/. My greatest concern was easily addressed by the fact that the majority of the PBL projects referenced are in poverty-stricken areas. I do continue to wonder what the right balance is, here, though. When the values of an ideal education system as posed by this piece do not align with the values of the parents of “successful” students in a system as currently exists, are these students then robbed of some future which they work so hard towards?
