A Farewell to Telegram.

With the MVP live and more projects being added each week, we’re coming to the end of the first phase of Acorn. Next up is to refine our marketing to reach more crowdfunders, deliver the Acorn Marketplace over the next few weeks and focus on what we can do to make Acorn the most accessible and supportive platform available.

As we end this first phase and look toward growing the platform itself, we’ve decided to stop using the Telegram chatroom as a way to communicate. We’re still going to have a small focus group of our first supporters to keep in touch with token holder views, and there will be an ANN channel as well as email support for token holders.

Our telegram channel has been an incredible community to be part of and watching it grow from its inception to where it is now has been an amazing journey, starting almost 18 months ago when there were 5 of us in an office, the channel has grown as we have. It was absolutely critical to our pre-sale and ICO and served has the ideal place to share news with the community and hear their feedback. The added bonus of this has been to get to know so many of the wonderful characters contained within, who know the platform wouldn’t be what it is without them.

But now as our platform has gone live in Beta we feel the time is right for us to close the group as we develop and move as an organisation. This is not to say we are cutting all ties with our community. We will be putting in place a “small council” which will feature some of our more prominent and longest serving members. This group will allow us to receive feedback from the community in a more structured & less time-consuming way. Community feedback is still crucially important to us especially in these early platform days hence why we are forming this small council who will act as a focus group representative of the wider community.

Any not included in this group can still engage a speak with us via more traditional channels, such as email. Anyone who emails support@aco.ai will always find a friendly Acorn on the other end to respond.

We realise some will miss the group, and while inevitable, every project finds it difficult to know when to close down Telegram, but as the activity in the group has waned and is largely driven by a handful of voices it seems a poor allocation of resources to monitor and engage with the group 24/7.

We will be keeping our announcement channel where we will be posting daily to keep the community updated, as well as our newsletters and marketing announcements.

The shutdown itself will happen on Tuesday 19th so there will be just under a week to say your goodbyes.

It’s been an incredible journey and we have nothing but heartfelt thanks for those who engaged in the channel and we still very much want to hear from you, it will simply be in achieved in a different way. We’re not going anywhere and hope that you will always stay tuned; in the Announcements channel, on our social channels and via email, to see where your wonderful support has led.
