I agree. However we’re talking about Trump. Had Hillary chosen those words for a speech we’d be justified in taking them at face value, knowing that she chose them with care. Trump on the other hand — The man just lets words fall out of his mouth. There’s so little thought involved. So unless he doubles down (entirely possible) on that line in the future, I’m going to say it was classic Trump hyperbole — demagoguery in its most pathetic and desperate form.
