It is “Simple” for Computer Science Students to Pick a Computer!

As I have changed my major from Computer Science to Electrical Engineering, my laptop and computer needs have changed. Since for Computer Science as long as you have a terminal in something like an M1 MacBook Air using MacOS or a Thinkpad T480 using a Unix Operating System of any Linux distribution you fancy such as Elementary OS or Debian for example, with minimum of 16GB of RAM plus a decent CPU, you will be all set.

It is Not “Simple” for Electrical Engineering Students to Pick a Computer!

With Electrical Engineering, picking a computer is a whole another story. It is not as simple as within Computer Science since you will be coding, but also work with Robotics or prepare Technical Drawings, or perhaps setting up a Solar Power System for small toy car as a side project, like I did!
As an EE major, you’ll be using Xilinx Vivado, or LTspice, plus the one and only CAD, and MatLab as well. So much software OPTIONS!
