This is so true. Every thought that isn’t essential to your growth just takes you down an emotional rabbit-hole of “what if’s” and “I should have’s”.
I recently learned about cognitive appraisals and how they help us make sense of events around us, to then give the appropriate response (emotional or not).
Knowing that emotions aren’t inherent to the external world helps you put many things in perspective.
