As I’ve developed an extensive collection of mostly leather-soled dress shoes over the past couple of years, I recently inquired with my podiatrist about leather soles vs. rubber soles. My podiatrist, pointing to his shoes, said rubber soles, as they produce better shock absorption.

So, for traveling and walking in the city, I set out to search for casual/fashionable oxfords with a rubber sole.

I recently purchased a pair of Velasca Milano Brumista in dark brown suede, and just recently purchased a pair of Meermin Oxfords — black calf with the double-rubber sole.

A little more rigid with the goodyear welt vs. the modern blake stitch, but a comfortable oxford in comparison to the leather sole.
