Paul Evans Shoes — Newman Chukka Boots — Review
I finally had an opportunity to visit Paul Evans flagship store in NYC:
I have been reading about Paul Evans for quite some time; Here’s an article featured in Business Insider about them:
My intent was to visit the store and try on a pair of Oxblood Newman Chukka Boots, for size. However, I met Evan Fript, one of the co-founders, who brought me an available pair in blue suede to try on.
At the time, I was wearing TheTieBar navy blue suede belt (review), and Evan said that since the sample I tried on matched my belt perfectly, I had to buy the pair of matching shoes. Evan said, “make me an offer”, and it was a done deal!
These shoes run about a size large, and while I’m usually a size 8.5 US / 41 EU, my TTS in Paul Evans is a size 7 in their dress shoes, even while wearing my prescription orthotics. As I have a healthy outer pronation, I took the shoes into Hector’s Shoe Repair around the corner:
