I really liked the progress bars and the numbers next to the challenges, but I would also, like you, see recurring negative comments along the lines of “Why do you keep adding more material, I was finished with that subject matter!” Those comments don’t really help anything and they’re downers for anyone having to reply to them, so if removing the bar helps ameliorate that, then it’s understandable. Folks should have a positive outlook of “Woohoo, more learning material!” but that’s just not always the case, and you guys end up being on the receiving end of some completely uncalled for flak from ungrateful folks, so this nips that in the bud. Good call, man.
Removing the numbers also makes sense. I really liked them, but I can see how constantly having to have newbies clarify the problem they’re working on is an unnecessary hindrance. Good call there as well.
As far as the jargon, you’re right, and the change is a part of FCC maturing and having to cater to a wider(global) audience.
