I bet the firing of David Griffin was the point where which Irving decided it was time to go elsewhere. Maybe this would force Gilbert to entertain more trades and more offers. However, I suspect it’s too late to dance when everyone else has a partner.

I also don’t know if a James — Anthony team would work well. I just can’t see Carmelo agreeing to be second fiddle to James, and he’s been too much of “the man” in New York to know if playing the off-ball role as Irving has been will actually works.

This also shows the genius of Coach Kerr in how he’s able to delay the inevitable problem of multiple players wanting to be the man on the Warriors. That much he learned from working with San Antonio, who also is really good in avoiding having multiple players wanting to be the man.

I didn’t think Cleveland could turn into a dumpster fire this soon.
