The 7 wastes are identified in current processes, if you want to create a new processes of course you don’t rush in. Don’t forget your PDCA cycle (Plan, Do, Check, Act), the most important part is Planning. Planning is not waiting as your activity is adding value to the process, unless your over-processing and planning more than you need to.
That said, when it comes to new services, sometimes it’s better to fail fast, learn and adapt — It can save much more resources than spending too much time perfecting something that your customers don’t want.
