Enemy
Yesterday I did the right thing
That’s what everybody called it.
They said I was brave, strong
and righteous, I was. Yesterday,
I killed the enemy. I was swift
As the vengeance of justice,
The wrath of pious action.
We fought hard, we fought fast,
But in the end, I was the victor, and
As I struck down the enemy, cutting
in half, destroying the last of it,
I saw myself drenched in blood,
And standing where I was,
I couldn’t see, was it me,
Or my enemy.
