I could not agree more.

So far, I have really enjoyed the reading what the Medium community created here. The level of civility, professionalism, and intelligence has been a great boon.

However, I have noticed certain hot-button topics still attract certain responses and commentary that I would not deign think of as legitimate critique or sincere.

I guess it takes all kinds, but trolling and other more callow, more pugilistic content creators still do not seem as much a problem here as they are on some of the more popular platforms. We can all be grateful for that at least.
