I seriously doubt it would since presentism is not a valid argument. Society makes us, and we make society. Our current ideas of freedom and individualism are only relevant to the late 20th and early 21st century in our specific environments.

Human nature is malleable and shaped by societal and environmental influences. Without living in society, we would not know concepts such as “freedom,” individualism or even politics. Concepts such as “power” and “freedom” are only human abstractions found in our culture. They are not immutable and are subject to change with the times as they always have.
