The heavy load of data, including files, folders, etc., can make your MacBook slow. Besides being slow, you might also notice some other issues as well. But this doesn’t mean that you should stop saving your data on your laptop. Simply by deleting some useless files, folder, pictures, etc. you can improve the efficiency of your system. And if this fails then you should simply factory reset your device to solve issues. You can follow the instructions and steps mentioned below to factory rest your MacBook:
- Factory resetting means that your system will delete the entire data on your laptop and then it will reinstall the whole operating system. So first of all create a back-up of everything you wish to keep. To create a back-up you can use a DVD or an external drive, etc. You can also create a backup using the ‘Time Machine’ program. You can find time machine in ‘System Preferences’.

2. Now that you have created a back-up of your important data, now is the time to reboot your laptop. To reboot your MacBook Pro, press and hold the ‘R + Command’ keys. Your system will now load the ‘Recovery Function’. Now select ‘Recovery HD’.

3. Select ‘Disk Utility’ and then click on ‘Continue’. Your system will now list the Hard Disks. Select ‘Macintosh HD disk’ and then click on the ‘Erase’ tab from the upper side of the window.

4. Now select ‘Format’. Your system will load various options for disk format. Select ‘Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Now select the ‘Erase’ tab. This may take a little time.
5. Now quit Disk Utility. Your system will take you back in ‘Recovery Menu’. After selecting ‘Reinstall OS X’, now select the ‘Install’ button. This will start installation for OS X.
6. During the installation process your system will ask you to go through their Terms and Conditions, and agree to them. After this your system will ask you to specify a hard drive where you wish to reinstall OS X.
7. Once the installation completes, now system will ask your Apple ID for the verification of your purchase of the OS X. Now you can enjoy using your laptop with its full efficiency.
