This is the second part of the “How to Write Like a Pro” series.

First things first, let’s talk about audience analysis.

Knowing Your Audience is Like Having a Secret Superpower.

1️⃣: Research

Look at your website’s analytics to see who’s visiting your site and where they’re coming from.

Check out social media groups and forums where your target audience hangs out.

Look at your competitors’ websites and see what kind of content is resonating with their audience.

Use tools like Google Trends to see what topics are currently trending in your industry.

Let me give you some more insights on these tools.

Google Analytics:

This platform allows you to track website traffic and analyze user behavior, including demographics, location, and interests. This information can help you understand who is visiting your website and what they are looking for.

Social Media Analytics:

Platforms like Facebook Insights and Twitter Analytics provide data on your followers, including demographics, location, and interests. This information can help you understand who is engaging with your content on social media and what they are interested in.

Surveys:

Platforms like SurveyMonkey and Google Forms allow you to create and distribute surveys to your audience. This can help you gain insight into their needs, goals, and experience with making money online.

Google Trends:

Google Trends allows you to track the popularity of a specific topic over time. This can help you identify trends in the industry and understand what people are searching for related to “How to make money online and getting paid.”

Email list:

If you have an email list of your audience, you can use email marketing tools such as Mailchimp, Constant Contact, and GetResponse to segment your audience based on past behavior and engagement.

2️⃣: Categorise

Now you can categorise your audiences based on the following:

Demographics:

Consider the age, gender, income level, and education level of your target audience. This information can help you tailor your language and examples to best resonate with your readers.

Interests:

Understand what your audience is interested in and how your article relates to those interests. For example, if your audience is mostly interested in making money online through affiliate marketing, you’ll want to focus on strategies for that specific topic.

Needs:

Understand the specific needs of your audience. For example, if your audience is mostly composed of stay-at-home parents, you’ll want to focus on strategies for making money online that can be done from home.

Goals:

Understand the goals of your audience. For example, if your audience is mostly composed of people looking to make extra income, you’ll want to focus on strategies for making money online that can bring in a significant amount of money quickly.

Experience:

Understand the level of experience your audience has with making money online. For example, if your audience is mostly composed of beginners, you’ll want to focus on strategies that are easy to understand and implement.

By understanding your audience’s demographics, interests, needs, goals, and experience, you’ll be able to create an article that speaks directly to them and provides them with the information they need to make money online.

By utilizing these online tools and platforms, you can gain a better understanding of your audience and create content that resonates with them and addresses their specific needs and interests.

This will ultimately increase the chances of your article being read and shared.

For example, I am going to write an article on “How to Make Money Online and Getting Paid”

I need to prepare an Audience Analaysis Report.

The purpose of this report is to analyze the target audience for an article on “How to make money online and getting paid” with a focus on the Indian demography.

The report will provide insights into the demographics, interests, needs, goals, and experience of the target audience.

If you have a website, you can use Google Analytics, but if you need a broad research you can use public data.

Research popular keywords and phrases related to making money online in India using Google Trends.

Conduct surveys to understand the interests of the target audience.

For Income level, Age, Gender, Demographics, we can research and gather data from relevant sources such as Indian Census Bureau, NSSO, and the World Bank.

Research online forums and communities to understand the common questions and concerns related to making money online in India.

To access data from the Indian Census Bureau, National Sample Survey Office (NSSO), and the World Bank for this report, I normally use Pandas & request library, if you have some coding skills, web scraping is the best way to collect and organise data from Public data sources.

If you are not using pandas, remember, the data from these sources may be in excel or csv format which will require manual cleaning and analysis to extract the relevant information for the report.

Now let me share a brief sample report that I prepared after my data analysis.

Age: The majority of the Indian population falls in the age group of 25–54 years.

Needs: Many Indians are looking for ways to make money online that can be done from home, as a significant portion of the population is engaged in remote work.
Many Indians are looking for ways to make money online that are easy to understand and implement, as they may lack the technical knowledge and experience.

Goals: The majority of Indians are looking to make extra income, either to support their families or to achieve financial independence.
Some Indians are looking to start their own online businesses, with the goal of making a significant amount of money.

Experience: The majority of Indians have limited experience with making money online, with many being beginners in the field.
A small percentage of Indians have some experience with making money online, but are looking to expand their knowledge and skills.

Final Report:

The target audience for an article on “How to make money online and getting paid” in India is primarily composed of individuals in the age group of 25–54, who are mostly male and have completed secondary education. The majority of the population is interested in making money online and is looking for ways to make extra income.
