That’s it. I’m switching to Apple!
Samsung and Windows aren’t cutting it anymore.
People who have known me for any period of time know that I don’t particularly like apple products, which is why I use a Windows PC and a Samsung phone to do my daily tasks. This tried and true system worked for me throughout elementary school, all the way to where I am now. So what changed?
What changed is that I got an M1 iPad Pro for digital notetaking.
Usually I have a “honeymoon period” with the various nonessentials I buy. But the iPad Pro was an exception. Despite having issues with purchasing it and needing to return my original iPad Pro because it stopped working, I still loved it! The best part is that it just worked. No dealing with where to keep the stylus, no fussing about sending a PDF to my notes software, no crashing, nothing. It just works beautifully and it does what I need it to do. As someone who doesn’t have the time to deal with crashes and freezing, this was a perfect device for that.
Recently, my phone has been incredibly slow. There are times I need to wait two seconds to just go to the home screen. In fact, even my gaming PC is slow. It takes several minutes to boot up, and sometimes can be slow to even typing into Google Chrome’s address bar, whenever I edit footage from my camera, it takes over a minute to jump around the timeline, file sharing between devices has started to become a hassle, and Windows 11 leaves a lot to be desired for me.
Pair that with the fact that the base model M1 MacBook Air is an excellent deal (especially with the student discount) and you’ve successfully made a windows fanboy willing to switch to an operating system they have never used before.
I love the customizability of Android, but the lure of the productivity potential of the Apple ecosystem coupled with my frustrations with my current devices has made me consider switching. Okay, I’m gonna go deepen Tim Cook’s pockets now.
