A Step-by-Step Guide to Buying an Akiverse NFT Game Center
Here’s what you’ll need, and the steps to follow, to buy a Game Center on OpenSea at our next sale on 27th February 2022.
When you first hear about NFTs, they can seem quite complicated and confusing to buy. Fortunately, OpenSea has a variety of features built into its site to make the purchasing process relatively seamless.
If you haven’t purchased an NFT before, then this article is just for you. If you already know your way around OpenSea and buying NFTs, then all you need is ETH on Polygon and this link to the sale page for when the sale goes live on 27th February 2022 at 13:00 UTC: Akiverse NFT Game Center Sale
We’ve divided this guide into 2 parts for quick reference:
Part 1: What you’ll need to buy a Game Center
Part 2: Steps to follow to buy a Game Center
Now, let’s look at each part of the guide.
Part 1 — What You’ll Need to Buy a Game Center
You’ll need to have 2 things to purchase an NFT Game Center:
- Crypto Wallet
To buy an NFT on OpenSea you need a compatible crypto wallet that works on the Ethereum blockchain. The most popular wallet, and the one that we’ll use for examples below, is Metamask.
2. Cryptocurrency
For this sale, you’ll need to have Ethereum on the Polygon network. The Polygon network provides scalable, secure and instant transactions with Ethereum currencies. To spend Ethereum on Polygon, you’ll need to bridge from the Ethereum network to Polygon. We’ll cover how to do this later in the article.
We have 72 Game Centers available for sale on 27th February. The amount of Ethereum you’ll need depends on what size Game Center you want to buy. There are 3 different sizes of Game Center available. The quantity of each size Game Center available for sale is shown below. The prices for the sale in ETH are listed below:
Large Game Center — 4 available for 0.2096 ETH
Medium Game Center — 23 available for 0.0570 ETH
Small Game Center —45 available for 0.0154 ETH
And now we’ll move on to the Steps to follow to buy a Game Center.
Part 2 — Steps to Follow to Buy a Game Center
Step 1: Setup Your Crypto Wallet
If you already have your wallet setup, feel free to skip this step. If not, we recommend using Metamask.
Visit Metamask.io and click on the Download button to install the Metamask extension on your browser.
Once you’ve downloaded the extension, you can create an account by clicking Create a New Wallet. As part of this step, you’ll also need to choose a password and remember your seed phrase. Keep the seed phrase somewhere safe, not on an accessible device, as it provides direct access to your wallet and anyone who has it can access your account.
After you’ve setup your MetaMask account, press the browser extension to access your account.
Step 2: Add the Polygon Network (MATIC) to MetaMask
After setting up your wallet you’ll need to add the Polygon Network (MATIC) to MetaMask. This will allow you to convert your ETH from the Ethereum Network to the Polygon Network, so that you can buy NFTs for sale with ETH on Polygon.
The default network on MetaMask is set to the Ethereum Mainnet. Click on the dropdown arrow and then click on the Add Network button.
You will then see a form that you need to fill out with the details of the Polygon Network.
Here are the details that you’ll need to enter into each field to add the Polygon network. We have also included a screenshot of the details for reference below. Click the Save button once you’ve filled in the details.
Network Name: Polygon
New RPC URL: https://rpc-mainnet.maticvigil.com/
Chain ID: 137
Currency Symbol: MATIC
Block Explorer URL: https://poly.gonscan.com/
Now that we’ve setup your wallet and added the Polygon Network, we can move over to OpenSea to connect your wallet.
Step 3: Connect Your Wallet to OpenSea
Now we’re ready to connect your wallet to OpenSea, so that you can interact with the marketplace and purchase NFTs. Go to OpenSea.io and click on the wallet button to show the available wallet providers. Select your wallet from the list of options.
Pick the accounts you want to connect to OpenSea, and then proceed to connect your wallet.
Once your wallet is connected, you’ll be able to see your wallet address and available balance when you click the wallet icon.
Step 4: Add Funds to Your Wallet
You’re almost ready to buy an NFT, but first, you’ll need to fund your account.
If you already have ETH available in another account, either on an exchange such as Binance or Coinbase or in a different wallet, then you can send the funds directly to the wallet address that you want to use to buy NFTs.
If you don’t have any funds available, then you can buy ETH on your favorite exchange and then use the integrated tool on OpenSea to add funds to your account. Click the wallet icon and then select the Add Funds button to start the process.
A pop-up will appear to give you the option to Deposit Crypto from another wallet or Buy with a card. The simplest option is to Deposit Crypto from your exchange account or another wallet.
Confirm that the address that is displayed is the correct address that you want to send your funds to for purchasing NFTs, and then copy the address to your other wallet/exchange account and send your desired amount of ETH.
Good work! You now have your wallet funded ready to buy a Game Center NFT. Now we need to move your ETH from the Ethereum Network to the Polygon Network so that you can use the gas-free marketplace on OpenSea.
Step 5: Bridge ETH to Polygon
There’s one small extra step to follow to convert your ETH from the Ethereum network to the Polygon network. This process is known as bridging.
To Bridge ETH to Polygon click the 3 dots next to your wallet balance, and then click Bridge to Polygon.
Now enter the amount of ETH that you want to convert, then click the Convert tokens button. The MetaMask extension will pop up to show the estimated gas fee and allow you to confirm the transaction.
Your ETH is now bridged on the Polygon network, so you are now able to utilise the Polygon gas-free marketplace on OpenSea.
