The 2016 Election Has Changed the Media Industry Forever

The one thing that did it for me is the way they report about police shootings. You would NEVER ever imagine from watching that African American men are 2.4 times as likely as white men to be killed by police and 5.5 times as likely to commit homicide. They always skew up the 2.4 by things like comparing young black men to “rest of American citizens” which includes elderly black women and Asian four-year-olds and is a ridiculous and intellectually dishonest comparison. I am actually not expressing an opinion about cops here btw; only about media efforts and trustworthiness. For me, it’s when stats and numbers are being summarized; that’s when I notice bias most undeniably.
