Hi Jessica. I practice mindfulness meditation, although mindfulness and meditation are two separate things. There are a few high quality apps to educate and help during the early stages. I started with some books on the topic (originally seeking a way to deal with my Dad’s terminal illness).
I began with Headspace.com and eventually learned to meditate solo with simple relaxing sounds or in silence.
I’m currently using Inscape which has a soothing narrator and music. Often I combine Inscape with a sound generator app, myNoise which brings in ocean waves, forest life and endless other ‘atmosheres’.
Headspace was good for helping me to recognise the impact of constant thought and how I can let them pass.
