I can’t see very much value of the use case of cube sat deployment (surely the construction itself is more cheaply done on Earth). The ISS has done a version of this, maybe that’s the inspiration here. Maybe this could save some costs by avoiding machinery that achieves separation of a multitude of spacecrafts.

In the big picture, orbital assembly would attach a habitat to a rocket. Going even further, an orbital workshop could attach a tank to an array of engines, fuel the tanks, install the internals of an inflatable habitat, and so-on.
