I often wonder why there is such a lack of support and empathy for the disabled community. One hypothesis is that some people feel as though their lives are difficult and they should be receiving more support and sympathy from others. So they feel a bit bitter towards giving any to anyone else whom they feel isn’t any more deserving than themselves. Which ties into my observation about many people that they aren’t capable of understanding things outside of their own sphere of experiences and feelings.
