Building a marketing team from scratch

Great insight! I’m the lead marketer at my team and wear many “hats” too. Something our team has benefited from is that I’m head of support as well. What this allows me to do is communicate with and learn from customers who are already using the product. Perhaps not feasible for many startups, as most would consider a technical person for this role, but it’s really been helpful for our company.

The key benefits have come from learning about how to properly educate the customer from prospect to conversion, and what kind of messaging works with them.
