It’s On Us, Too: An Easy Guide To Contacting Your Elected Representatives About Gun Control
Nicole Silverberg

Here’s another one I wrote before I found yours…

Dear __________________,

I am writing to you to implore you to please consider and push forward three aspects of gun reform:

1. Making background checks more comprehensive, mandatory in all situations (including licensing), and restricting guns from people with known terrorist associations. (If we can keep them from flying, we should be able to keep them from owning LEGAL weapons.)

2. Proposing and funding research on the epidemic of gun violence, and

3. Banning assault-style weapons. Assault weapons are meant to do one thing correctly, as quickly as possible, and that is to kill people. They have no business being in the hands of private citizens. They are not designed for private defense, like handguns, or hunting, like rifles.

I appreciate the Second Amendment Right to have guns to protect yourself and respect their value in hunting. They have no value in helping us to hurt each other and create a dangerous environment.

Please help.
