Say Something Worth Standing Behind

Everyone should blog every single day in public.
Are you able everyday to say one thing — that’s new — that you are able to stand behind? — Seth Godin

That is a brilliant quote from Seth Godin at Tim Ferriss‘ podcast.

As brilliant as challenging.

I’ve been writing for months everyday -almost- without hesitating. Just sit down and do the work.

But that thrilled my spirit and passion. Would I be able to say one thing everyday without failing that is worth standing behind?

It doesn’t have to be elaborated neither a display of inventiveness but rather a truth that is meaningful enough to be shared with the world.

Because if it is here, I cannot bail.

Because if it is here, even if nobody reads it, I know it will be here for the rest of my life.

If you put your work out there, you are exposing yourself deliberately to the critiques of others. That is a lesson everybody should learn.

Each time that I say something, I want to make sure it is something I stand for; something I will fight for; something I truly, honestly believe in.

Otherwise, why should I open my mouth? To waste your time?

I want to commit. And I want to make a public statement.

Why?

Because I care. Because I care about my work.

Craft. Craft. Craft. Craft until it is no longer bad.

And then, keep at it.

Keep at it, keep at it, keep at it until it is no longer average.

And after that, write more.

Write. Write. Write. Write until it is good. Great. Incredible. Amazing. Outstanding…

Impossible to ignore.

Craft something with so much value that it cannot be ignored again.

That is the real way to be a master and the one I aim for.

Because I am no longer afraid about expose or commitment.

Because I am a pro, and pro, as Pressfields said, show up everyday no matter what.

This is my commitment. What is yours?
