ahahah I thought those were questions from fans and you were just posting them. I didn’t meant to belittle you or anyone else. Sorry if I came out as an arrogant. :) But with all the problems that episode had — the retarted idea of the mission, to begin with — I think the chains were a non issue, or the last of the problems. First of all, they did show the WW and the wights leaving the scene, heading from where they came. Then, you have the last scene with them back at the lake, pulling Viserion out. Therefore, I didn’t see a big problem with that. Unless you want to see them arrive to wherever they had the chains (Hardhome?), and all the way back to the lake. IMO that would be useless. Whatever the case though, these people are able to raise the dead, human and beasts. They are able to transform babies into WW, have a superhuman strength and have magic armour. Where did they found the chains is totally irrelevant and the last thing I would think of. :)
What I don’t get though is why did the NK went for Viserion and not Drogon. From a narrative POV I know it has a meaning. Drogon is very connected with Dany and Rhaegal most probably will end up with Jon riding it. So Viserion is the one left, not “attached” to anyone. But I’m sure the NK wasn’t making this assesment when he went for Viserion. lol
So why, then? They could’ve chose for Dany to bring only 2 Dragons, for example. One for evacuation, Drogon, and Viserion for air support. They then, could’ve placed NK somewhere else, in a way that it made more sense for him to aim for Viserion. They did none of that. So, is there a legitimate reason that we don’t know yet? It seems unlikely, but I just can’t think of any good reason why would he go for Viserion and not Drogon. Unless, they wanted to tell us the NK is a show off, badass guy, which is lame. I wouldn’t be surprised though. The whole winterfell plotline was lame also, used as a Deus ex machina to kill off LF. So killing Viserion would make sense for them, I suppose.
