I think it’s awesome that the dialogue was started at all. The problem in my honest opinion is that white people are too scared to talk about race. It generally brings the fear of being called a racist. So instead it is ignored or accepted as how we are to act. I wrote a piece about the lack of empathy and White Journalism in the media. I learned a lot, but one thing that stuck out was the comment that not all racists know they’re racist. If we can take the fear out of it and change the way we communicate and really discuss race, we can make a difference.
