Taking Charge of Your Life

If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a leader”- John Quincy Adams.

At some point in our lives, we had a relationship of inspiration with some who can be a teacher, a parent, a friend, or it can be an employer. These people are the one who impacted your life and have changed the way you look at life and the world. It is human nature that when we stuck in a problem, we immediately start looking for a person who has high standards, who can inspire and motivate us and who can truly stand for us. Sometimes we call these people the saviors and sometimes a leader. Our social media is full of people who are making videos of themselves and guiding the people about life and the world. They are the heroes of social media with a big fan base and a lot of supporters and sometimes people start calling them a good leader. Did you ever think what these so-called heroes, saviors, and leaders think about you? The answer is very simple you are just a fan or you are just a supporter in their eyes that’s it. Watching inspirational videos, becoming a fan, and reading cool quotations doesn’t solve your problems because these people only transfer their thinking to your lives. You are the one who accept that happily, but the question is did you ever accept your thinking, your ideas, your strength, and your weakness.

Today, we are surrounded by people who are known as the leaders, in business, in government, in education etc. The truth is all we are waiting for is a savior, who will come and save us from them. This is happening to us, why because we don’t listen to ourselves. We don’t know who we are, we don’t know our strengths, and we don’t even know that we also have a mind, a soul, and a heart.

There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it — Edith Wharton

This beautiful quote is only talking about two things, a human, and his/her transformation. We don’t think that today if we accept ourselves then there will be nothing in the world that can put us down onto our knees and let us beg for a savior. The second, you accept yourself the life will start to move according to your way. Understand this, we don’t get what we want, we only get what we tolerate. Taking charge of your life will automatically change your “should” into a “must.” Your life does not change when your career or your boss changes, your life changes when you change. It is all about allowing yourself to be the best you can be. The formula to make all these smaller changes is by transforming your own thinking into reality. Start by putting your stance into general conversations because here we learn to value our opinion. It does not matter who accept your point of view or who not, it is only about you and your learning. Learn to take responsibility for your decisions, and when make those decisions to work in your best interest. It comes under the head of the positive mindset which is one of the strongest personal leadership skill. The mindset you achieve by this personal learning is the foundation of your success and it will definitely translate your leadership skills at work, school, college, or anywhere else.

When it comes to work, most of us engage ourselves in proving the boss, that I can work according to your and company’s expectation. The same line we use in a job interview, why because we think this way. At that point in time, you don’t understand that “It’s your life. Compete yourself with yesterday because you don’t need to reach anyone’s expectation.” These are the things which can only be taught by having a positive mind or by having a positive leader in your life.

Great leaders are not defined by the absence of weakness, but rather by the presence of clear strengths.” — John Zenger

When you confidently take part in any conversation and speak your heart out in front of your family, friends, and office colleagues, you will earn an unintentional support system. Speaking about your learnings in front of other people will automatically make a support system of people who trust you. Unintentionally, you will develop a group of people who seek advice and counsel from you. This is where you spread that light again by transforming your weakness into your strength. Never let these achievements stopping you from educating yourself. Communicate, read, network or do whatever it takes to learn anything new from life which is not only about being smart but it is also important to be aware and well-rounded.

Taking charge of your life also means to be authentic and real with every single person around you which helps in removing stereotypes. Reflecting yourself as the real you mean, you are owing your personality and you are unapologetic for your confidence. It’s time for you to wake up change yourself and take charge of your life.

Did you understand by only stop tolerating about what you get transforms you into a leader? The actual meaning of taking charge of your life is leadership. You become a leader, the hour you start accepting yourself because this awakening forces the life to move according to your way. Allow yourself to become the best you can be and spread your light into the world, who knows you are the leader which the world needed right now. Who knows you will become the one who brings light, not only in someone’s life but also in the world. Accept, Allow, Learn, and Spread this is what great leaders do and you are one of them.
