A lot of these (especially ‘nobody reads’ and ‘position matters’) speak to how design isn’t just about creativity, but also discipline. Take user testing (also described above): You might have the creativity to design out different A/B tests, but do you have the discipline to let those tests run faithfully and follow the data? Or colors: Sure, you created a fun new color palette, but do you have the discipline to use it in ways that enhance how users find content, and not in ways that just adds to the content’s aesthetics?
