My Nomadic Adventure: Week 14 + 15 — Routine Has Set In

I am somewhat surprised to say this, but after almost two months in Penang a fairly structured routine has set into my day to day life. The past few weeks have definitely not been the cliff-jumping, kite-surfing, mojito-sipping life that one often imagens digital nomads have.

My routine has become pretty structured. I train Muay Thai & MMA Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning. I spend about 8 to 12 hrs a day in the co-working space ACAT. And I spend my evenings hanging out with my friend Ben or go out boondoggling with the locals I meet. As much as I am starting to want to break out of my routine, it is definitely a very positive routine, especially, when it comes to getting work done and living a healthy life.

Given that I am ‘in the process’ of stopping drinking (which means I currently still have drinks maybe every two weeks or so) and that I am still mediating every day, my body and mind are feeling better than ever. And with no hangovers I am much more productive as a professional.

I have been working a lot on my business Smart Money Smart Living. And judging by some of the emails I have been receiving from readers, I seem to be doing a pretty good job so far with my personal finance advice-based content. Even though I feel like every time I tick a major item of my ‘To Do’ list, two more appear, I am definitely moving in the right direction with my business. The mission and the path is clearer than ever.

Having said that, I think I should probably start taking one day off each week and not touch my computer at all. As much as I like working seven days a week, my body tells me via a massive headache about once or twice a week, that I probably should have a rest day.
