6 guidelines for better professional life.
Today, I shared six important guidelines with one of my best friend, which are definitely going to help him in future.
For you people, below is a quick summary of the 6 guidelines for deciding your career:
1. Find your passion and align it with your career
2. Decisions are very unique to each person, what’s right for one isn’t right for the other
3. Own your decisions: Don’t let other people make decisions for you and don’t blame anyone else
4. Do an internship before pursuing a higher degree to confirm if you like that field/industry
5. Don’t do PhD if you want to be an entrepreneur or work in corporate sector
6. Spend at least one year in your first job
It was a very good experience for both of us. Talking about future and professional life is always full of excitement for the youngsters, that’s why we had a good time together.
I started conversation by asking, what are your future goals and what field you will choose in future for specialization and for working?
After he described all his wishes and planning, I told him about the six guidelines as the Amal Academy taught us. I explained all the points in detail and after each guideline, we debated with our own point of views. In the last, I was glad to know more about thinking of my friend, because it was quite different from my thinking. I told him about Sohail sb and their life. He was also amazed to know about him. I also told him that my favorite part in this course was “the one year internship in the field of our interest”, just to know about your field. I told him about Sohail sb’s experience that how they have switched their field on the basis of their interest. I explained him that, by Sohail sb’s life, we could learn a lot. We should not make those mistakes.
We had a brief discussion on topic of “Making your own decisions”. We shared our relevant stories and laughed about them. We both, eventually, realized the importance of decision making in life by each other’s stories.
Previously, he was interested in doing MSc and may be PhD, but after discussion, I realized him the fact that, PhD’s makes people very focused on a small point, and people with PhD’s are often become afraid of taking risks and they always work for an entrepreneur. These points made him astonished and he told me that he will keep these all things in his mind. In the end, he was very impressed by Amal principles and it makes me very proud to be a member of Amal academy.
The Experience was good, I realized the importance, that something that suit others, it is not necessary that it will also suits you. Every human has his own special strengths and interest. Alignment is the most important part.
