Rain’s Dance

Rain jumps in place
And listens to tunes of neighbors
Jumping in theirs.
But after a while jumps become hops
And neighbors begin to vanish.
Rain then searches for new friends.
Loneliness results in loss of groove
And hops turn into taps.
Search for companions called off
As sunshine replaces taps with spots
Then battles clouds and waits
Until rain starts jumping again.
