Write for the sake of writing . . . Day 1

I opened this account so I could write for the sake of writing, write to get better at writing, write as a creative outlet, write to vent what I need to vent. Basically just write any weird nonsense that came into my head.

Unfortunately, and I’m sure a lot of other people can relate, I balance out days of no inspiration with days of inspiration coupled with overthinking. In other words, when I do get inspired my perfectionism kicks in and nothing ever seems good enough or polished enough. Which defeats the object of the exercise because the point was to write any weird nonsense that pops into my head (see above).

So now I have something like five unfinished pieces of writing, plus a list of ideas for other things to write about that I haven’t even started on.

I’m starting to think it’s time to try a new tactic. The idea: every day I set aside 10 to 20 minutes and literally just write down whatever pops into my head and then publish it raw and unpolished.

Really write just for the sake of writing. Writing just for me.
