There’s something to write also on the merging of synthetic biology, engineering of every kind, and the monetisation of this kind of research to the point that it can be indistinguishable from something that a private corporation should be paying for, rather than something done under a remit for ‘knowledge’ and under university protections. But unlike our Harvard social psychologist, some may not realise which category their own research falls into – a category error.
